Texas Rangers righthanded pitcher Jose Corniell will undergo elbow ligament surgery, per Evan Grant. Evan says it is not determined yet whether it will be Tommy John surgery or ligament brace surgery. Should it be the brace surgery, Corniell would likely be back early in 2025. If it is Tommy John surgery, he would like be out until August or September of next year.
Corniell, who turns 21 this weekend, had a breakout 2023 campaign, putting up a 2.92 ERA between Down East and Hickory while striking out 119 batters against 31 walks in 101 innings.
