The case of Seung Hwan Oh, the Rangers closer who wasn't, gets a little stranger.
The Rangers and Oh reportedly had a one-year contract in place for $2.75 million in guaranteed money two weeks ago, pending a physical. Then came the physical. And nothing happened. Sources acknowledged on Saturday the Rangers and Oh had broken off talks. According to another source, there was a concern about the MRI of his arm.
Kim Dong-wook, Oh's representative, told a Korean news site Sunday that the Rangers saw some inflammation in the elbow ligament and then tried to renegotiate the contract downward on three different occasions before talks fell apart.
