ARLINGTON - As expected, the injury-filled nightmare continued for the Rangers on Wednesday.
Third baseman Adrian Beltre went on the disabled list for the third time since opening day 2017 because of a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Grade 1 strains usually sideline a player for at least three weeks, but Beltre returned from a similar injury in about two weeks last season.
Beltre incurred the injury running the bases on Tuesday. The Rangers’ medical staff confirmed Beltre’s fear of a strain during a morning examination.
“Short of it was just a cramp, this is probably the best news we could have gotten,’’ manager Jeff Banister said.
