Scherzer passes the torch to Leiter in Rangers loss

The Texas Rangers scored four runs but the Seattle Mariners scored five runs.

Among the surprises that the Rangers brought to Seattle this week, if Kumar Rocker is the future, and Jacob deGrom is the present, it feels a little rude to call Max Scherzer the past. Scherzer fits comfortably in the 30 or so best pitchers of all time, after all. But he’s also 40 years old and has entered the sometimes rolls out out of bed and can’t pitch for a month phase of his career.

Nevertheless, he’s a Hall of Famer the moment they put him on the ballot and one of just ten people to ever start a World Series game for the Texas Rangers and is one of like 60 people to own a Texas Rangers World Series ring.
