The Texas Rangers have placed infielder/outfielder Danny Santana on the 10 day injured list with a sprained elbow, the team announced today. To replace him on the active roster, the Rangers have recalled Ronald Guzman from the Alternate Training Site.
Guzman followed up his disappointing 2019 season, which included a trip to AAA, with a disappointing spring training and summer camp. He briefly was on the active roster early this year, but was quickly sent down. I have no clue if Guzman is coming up because the work he’s been doing at the Alternate Training Site has the team believing he’s figuring things out, or because they need a warm body who can play first base and he’s already on the 40 man roster.
