Outfielder Ryan Rua and right-hander pitcher Clayton Blackburn were called up from Triple A Round Rock before the Rangers’ series opener Monday against the Mariners.
It’s Rua’s second stint with the club after making the team for Opening Day before being sent down June 15. He was hitting .246 with five homers, four doubles and 17 RBIs. He hit .202 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 45 games with the Rangers.
Blackburn, 24, is looking for his major league debut. He was with the Giants for three days last season but never appeared in a game.
