Righthanded pitcher Alejandro Rosario of the Down East Wood Ducks has been named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week, it was announced today. Rosario won the award after a scintillating outing that saw him throw six shutout innings on Saturday against Fredericksburg, allowing just one hit, issuing no walks, and striking out 11. 17 of his 66 pitches were swinging strikes.
The 22 year old Rosario is someone we haven’t really talked much about, but who we probably should be talking about, giving the season he is having. The 22 year old was the Rangers’ fifth round pick out of the University of Miami in 2023.
