Ron Washington says Rangers "more equipped" to win title than his 2010 and 2011 World Series teams

ARLINGTON _ This year's Rangers are better positioned to win the World Series than any team in franchise history.

Says who? None other than Ron Washington, the only man who has managed the Rangers to a World Series, both in 2010 and 2011.

The 2011 team, of course, twice came within one strike of winning the World Series during what could have been a clinching Game 6 in St. Louis. Washington, in Globe Life Park Friday as the Oakland A's third base coach, said he has naturally watched the 87-60 Rangers with special interest.

"They're more equipped now than I was in 2011, even though we were a very good team," Washington said.
