Robert Garcia made his Texas Rangers’ debut yesterday in the seventh inning of the season opener, retiring a pair of batters and then walking a pair of batters before being removed in favor of Chris Martin.
Bruce Bochy mentioned before yesterday’s game that he had Garcia in mind as the seventh inning guy, at least for that game. And I will note that at this point that even saying Garcia is penciled in as the 7th inning guy (with Martin as the 8th inning guy and Luke Jackson the 9th inning guy) is probably overstating things.
