Rangers right-handed pitchers Shawn Tolleson and Lucas Harrell cleared waivers and have been assigned to Triple-A Round Rock, the club announced Wednesday.
Both players, who were on the 60-day disabled list, have the option of rejecting the outright assignment and entering free agency.
Tolleson, who is arbitration eligible, led the Rangers with 174 appearances in three seasons, posting a 3.84 ERA and collecting 46 saves in that span. The 28-year-old struggled this year, however, going 2-2 with a 7.68 ERA though 36 1/3 innings of relief before he was sent down to Round Rock and later placed on the DL with a lower back sprain.
