ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Boston shortstop Xander Bogaerts left the Red Sox's game at Texas after being hit with a pitch on his left forearm.
Bogaerts initially stayed in the game Thursday night after being hit by a pitch in the second inning. But he was removed for a pinch-hitter in the fourth.
The pitch by Rangers starter Nick Martinez hit Bogaerts near his wrist, then ricocheted into the top of the screen behind home plate.
Bogaerts stayed in after be tended to by a trainer, and even caught a popup in the third inning.
