The Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays became the first two teams to advance past the Wild Card round today.
The Astros beat the Minnesota Twins 3-1, extending the Twins’ postseason losing streak to 18 games. Houston will play the winner of tomorrow’s Game 3 in the Chicago White Sox/Oakland A’s matchup.
The Rays, meanwhile, rolled to an 8-2 win over the Jays today, and will play the winner of the New York Yankees/Cleveland Indians series. The Yankees won Game 1 of that series yesterday, and have the opportunity to clinch tonight, although their game in Cleveland has been delayed due to weather.
