Rangers won't sign Oh after negotiations hit impasse

The Texas Rangers' search for a closer will continue to be an internal one after the club stopped negotiating with free-agent right-hander Seung-Hwan Oh, according to a source.

The Rangers and Oh had agreed Feb. 6 on a one-year deal worth $2.75 million that included a club option for 2019. But the deal was pending a physical, and that's where things apparently hit a snag.

General manager Jon Daniels declined to get into specifics either Thursday or Friday when asked about the situation. Oh, who has worked out in Phoenix with the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization, told reporters last week that he felt fine.
