The Rangers on Monday held off a decision on the status of third baseman Adrian Beltre until he undergoes an examination on Tuesday in Seattle.
On Sunday at Houston, Beltre took himself out of the game during the seventh inning after feeling renewed discomfort in the left hamstring. He came off the disabled list last Tuesday after missing 12 games because of a strained left hamstring.
Beltre, 39, has been on the disabled list three times since opening day 2017. He has missed 74 of the last 204 games while on the DL.
"I don't think anybody wants to be hurt, especially when you want to be out there with your team,'' a downcast Beltre said after the game at Houston.
