MINNEAPOLIS -- Texas purchased left-hander Michael Roth's contract from Triple-A Round Rock and transferred Colby Lewis to the 60-day disabled list, the Rangers announced before Sunday's game at Minnesota.
Rangers manager Jeff Banister said the 26-year-old Roth, who last pitched in the majors in 2014 for the Los Angeles Angels, would be in the bullpen for Sunday's game. Transferring Lewis, who was originally placed on the 15-day DL last month with a strained latissimus dorsi, allowed the Rangers to make room for Roth on the major league roster.
