ARLINGTON -- The Rangers, a team with no identifiable closer and a bullpen lacking in defined roles on Saturday traded away a reliever who features a 100 mph fastball.
That they did said a little about how deep they feel their pool of upcoming relievers is and perhaps more about concerns in other spots.
The Rangers sent right-hander Pete Fairbanks, who went from Class A to the majors in the first three months of the season, to Tampa Bay for Nick Solak. Solak is a right-handed hitter who plays both second base and the outfield.
