The Texas Rangers have traded pitcher Shaun Anderson to the Miami Marlins for cash considerations, the team announced today.
Anderson, 29, was signed by the Rangers in mid-April to help fortify the pitching staff at Round Rock. He was brought up in mid-May when the Rangers needed a multi-inning option in the major league bullpen, and ended up appearing in two games for the Rangers. He was designated for assignment on May 26 when the Rangers needed to open up a roster spot for Gerson Garabito, who started against the Minnesota Twins that day.
