ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rangers' efforts to go pink for Mother's Day and raise awareness for breast cancer ran into a snag. Not every player received the pink bats they were planning on using in Sunday's game.
"One company sent three players' bats to Arlington," equipment manager Richard Price said. "So they won't be using them."
The Rangers still had plenty of pink to celebrate Mother's Day from their undershirts, batting gloves, wrist bands and even Delino DeShields' pink cleats.
"I like them," DeShields said. "They are different. That's what it is all about, standing out.
