Rangers snap losing streak behind Mike Minor's continued rise as an ace-caliber pitcher

SEATTLE -- There are plenty of issues with the Rangers pitching staff, but at least one thing has gone very right for it in the early stages of this year: Mike Minor.

And that's good news on multiple platforms.

Minor authored another chapter in the story of his coming-of-age as an ace-caliber pitcher Saturday with a career-high 13 strikeouts in the Rangers' 15-1 drubbing of Seattle. It was the worst-ever beating the Rangers have handed the Mariners. And it matched Cliff Lee and Jamie Moyer for the most strikeouts by a left-hander in Rangers history.

More importantly, it snapped a five-game losing streak and an eight-game road losing streak within the AL West.
