The Texas Rangers announced last night that pitcher Nathan Eovaldi had officially been signed to a three year deal. To make room for Eovaldi on the 40 man roster, the Rangers have designated pitcher Roansy Contreras for assignment.
The news broke earlier this week that the Rangers and Eovaldi had agreed on a three year, $75 million deal to bring one of the heroes of the 2023 World Series team (and the 2023 World Series, for that matter). Per reports, the Eovaldi deal has him getting a $12 million signing bonus that’s paid out in two $6 million installments after the 2026 and 2027 seasons, $18 million in 2025, $25 million in 2026 and $20 million in 2027.
