The Texas Rangers have signed veteran lefthanded pitcher Wade Leblanc to a minor league deal, the team announced today. Leblanc has been assigned to Round Rock and is starting for the Express tonight.
This would seem to be a depth move, with the 36 year old offering some innings to a Round Rock club that has seen Joe Palumbo land on the injured list recently and that has been tapped for call-ups throughout the year. Leblanc has bounced around all over since being drafted in the second round of the 2006 draft out of the University of Alabama by the San Diego Padres.
