The Texas Rangers have signed pitchers Shane Greene, Austin Pruitt and Jonathan Holder to minor league contracts, the team announced today. All three also received invitations to major league camp.
Greene, a 35 year old righthander, was originally a 15th round draft choice of the New York Yankees in 2009. After the 2014 season he was part of the three way trade involving New York, Detroit and Arizona that saw Robbie Ray go to Arizona and Didi Gregorius go to the Yankees, with Greene ending up with the Tigers.
Greene struggled as a starter with the Tigers in 2015, and since then has been a reliever.
