ARLINGTON, Texas -- Left-handed reliever Neal Cotts has signed a Triple-A contract with the Texas Rangers.
Cotts was 10-12 with a 2.84 ERA in 131 games for the Rangers from 2013-14.
He had been pitching in the New York Yankees' organization, but opted out of his deal. The Rangers expect him to join Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old Cotts had a 3.41 ERA in 68 games combined last season with Milwaukee and Minnesota.
Cotts signed a minor league deal with Houston in March but was released before the end of spring training.
