The Texas Rangers have signed pitchers Jharel Cotton and Edubray Ramos and outfielder Jason Martin to minor league deals, the team announced today. All three have been invited to the major league spring training camp.
Cotton is the notable name here. The hard throwing righthander was originally a 2012 draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and was dealt to the Oakland A’s, along with Frankie Montas and Grant Holmes, in the trade deadline deal that sent Rich Hill and Josh Reddick to L.A. in 2016.
Cotton made it to the majors in 2016, putting up a 2.
