ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The Texas Rangers have signed first-round pick Dillon Tate, a right-hander from UC-Santa Barbara who was the fourth overall pick in this week's amateur baseball draft.

Tate got a $4.2 million signing bonus Friday, when the Rangers said they had also agreed to terms with six other draft picks.

Fourth-round selection Jake Lemoine, a right-hander from the University of Houston, signed for $528,000.

The Rangers used their highest overall pick since 1986 on Tate, who was 8-5 with a 2.26 ERA with 111 strikeouts in 103 1-3 innings as a junior for the Gauchos.
