OAKLAND, Calif. -- Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor on Monday said has no regrets over punching Toronto's Jose Bautista and expects to be suspended by Major League Baseball for his actions.
"It's part of the game," Odor said.
Odor explained what unfolded in the eighth inning of Sunday's game as being triggered by the feeling that he had to protect himself.
Odor fully expected Bautista to slide hard into second on a force play. Bautista was unhappy about being hit in the elbow and ribs by a pitch from reliever Matt Bush in the eighth inning.
