Rangers roster projection v3.0: There could be more than one rotation spot to fill

The week's biggest revelation is that oft-injured Andrew Cashner is dealing with a bout of biceps tendinitis. He's not currently throwing off a mound, threatening to put the Rangers in a real bind with their starting rotation to start the season.

The rotation should be one of the team's biggest strengths, but the Rangers now face the possibility of opening the season with only three healthy members of the rotation. Right-hander Tyson Ross, slightly ahead of schedule in his return from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome surgery, is not likely to pitch in the majors before May 1.

With the prospect of missing two guys to start the season, there is legitimate open competition for potentially two spots among RHP A.
