With a week to go before opening day, there appear to be two major priorities for the Rangers in terms of formulating the final roster: Keeping the maximum number of pitchers and, in doing so, best manipulating the roster.
So you know how we've spent the spring talking about a six-man rotation and a seven-man bullpen?
Forget all that.
Well, don't forget it. Just put it aside for a few days. It - or a 5+1 setup - is still the ultimate plan, but on opening day, I expect the roster to have four true starters and nine - count 'em nine - relievers.
