The Rangers recalled Spencer Patton from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned outfielder Michael Choice down to its highest affiliate Thursday. Choice was recalled from Round Rock on Wednesday and played against Oakland as a defensive replacement.
Choice, prior to his recall, batted .242 with seven home runs and 33 RBIs in 61 games for Round Rock.
Patton, a right-handed pitcher, has allowed three earned runs in three innings for the Rangers this year, and he delivered a 0.96 ERA in nine games for Texas last year. Patton has a 0.78 ERA in 22 appearances for Round Rock this year, and he's 13-14 with a 3.
