The Texas Rangers have recalled pitcher Grant Anderson from AAA Round Rock, the team announced today. To make room for Anderson on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned infielder Davis Wendzel to AAA Round Rock.
Anderson has bounced up and down between the majors and the minors all season, and has a 9.53 ERA in 17 innings over 16 games for the Rangers in the majors this year. This is a move to get the bullpen back to 8 relievers. They had been using a seven man pen since Brock Burke went down to make room for Jonathan Ornelas when Corey Seager was hit on the hand with a pitch last weekend.
