The Texas Rangers' offseason is off to a quick start.
The Rangers have agreed to a two year deal with veteran catcher Jeff Mathis, pending a physical.
Mathis, a 14-year veteran, has caught over 800 games in the major leagues with four teams, including A.L. West rival Los Angeles.
