PITTSBURGH -- Hunter Pence wouldn't allow Joey Gallo's history-making moment to go to waste Wednesday.
Gallo hit his 100th major league home run in a 9-6 win for the Rangers, snatched away from the Pittsburgh Pirates with a pinch-hit grand slam from Pence with Texas down 6-2 and two out in the eighth. After Pence tied it, the Rangers tacked on three more two-out runs in the ninth.
Rougned Odor put the exclamation point on the win with a two-run home run over the wall in right field, giving Texas the 9-6 final.
Gallo extended his hit streak to eight games with his homer, which sailed over the stands in right-center field before bouncing into the Allegheny River.
