KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Texas Rangers put right-hander Ross Ohlendorf on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained right groin.

Ohlendorf was 1-0 with one save and a 3.52 ERA in eight relief appearances. The move was retroactive to Thursday.

Rookie right-hander Spencer Patton was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, where he had a 0.53 ERA with five saves in five opportunities in 16 relief appearances, while holding opposing batters to a .175 average. He struck out 22 in 17 innings.

Patton was up for 10 days in May and gave up three runs in three innings.
