ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rangers have placed pitcher Tony Barnette on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation and have recalled utility player Ryan Rua from Triple-A Round Rock.
Barnette flew back to Texas on Tuesday to be examined by Dr. Keith Meister. Rua was recalled to give the Rangers an extra position player. Jurickson Profar was not in the lineup on Tuesday while still undergoing concussion protocol after leaving Monday's game in the second inning. The Rangers are waiting on Profar and have not yet decided to use the seven-day disabled list.
