Rangers opening day roster projection 5.0: How Joey Gallo could affect decisions on multiple positions

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Rangers entered spring hoping to find a spot for Willie Calhoun, who has worked hard and impressed club officials since the last season ended.

What spring has shown is just how difficult that task to be right now.

And, so, it appears Calhoun is going to find out just how he would handle another demotion to Triple-A. There just isn't a viable role for him at the moment. Not with his defensive limitations. Not with two corner outfielders in his age group with already significant accomplishments. And not with Shin-Soo occupying the DH's slot.
