CINCINNATI -- With Joey Gallo inching his way towards returning to the roster, the Rangers are faced with yet another difficult decision about his use: Is playing him in center field worth the continued health risk?
Gallo will go to Frisco on Sunday to work out for a day, then go to Arizona for the start of the week for more game-simulation workouts. He hopes to return from his strained oblique by next weekend when the Rangers host the Chicago White Sox. He suffered the injury on June 1 while trying to make a throw.
Manager Chris Woodward is cognizant of the increased risk for injuries for a large man playing the most demanding outfield spot.
