ARLINGTON -- Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo was not in Thursday night's lineup against Baltimore, one night after he was hit in the left hand by an 89-mph fastball from Orioles left-hander Paul Fry. Woodward said X-rays were negative, but it hurt Choo to swing.
"I don't even want him to swing today," Woodward said. "There's no reason. Just get a bunch of treatment. We'll see how it feels [Friday]. If it's still sore tomorrow, there may be a case he misses tomorrow also. He's pretty tough. He said he could play if he had to."
The hit by pitch was the 57th of Choo's Rangers career, tying him with Ian Kinsler for most in franchise history.
