The Texas Rangers announced today that all 27 players on the 40 man roster who were not under contract have been tendered contracts today. In addition, the team announced that Dane Dunning and Josh Sborz have agreed to terms on one year deals.
It would appear that Dunning and Sborz were the guys in danger of being non-tendered, since deals that are struck today — the deadline for tendering players contracts — are usually for players who will be non-tendered if an agreement isn’t reached. As we mentioned earlier this afternoon, Dunning agreed to a one year deal with incentives, but with his base salary reduced by the maximum allowed under the CBA — 20%.
