The Texas Rangers had to do some shuffling to make room for Cesar Ramos to make his start Monday night against the Yankees.
As a result, the Rangers announced in a news release that Nick Martinez was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock so Ramos could be called up to the Rangers' 40-man roster. Ramos, 31, will be making just his 11th career start, his first since May 2014.
In other news, reliever Keone Kela was moved from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL after having surgery to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.
