OAKLAND, Calif. -- Texas Rangers rookie reliever Matt Bush is not running from his difficult past, which included time in a Florida prison for an alcohol-related driving offense. He wants to make amends with people who saw him at his lowest.
That includes former Tampa Bay teammate Brandon Guyer. He was dragged into Bush's DUI offense in Port Charlotte, Fla., during spring training of 2012. A 72-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured.
Bush was driving Guyer's truck at the time. Guyer was unaware Bush's driver's license had been suspended for previous DUI offenses and gave him the keys.
