CARLSBAD, Calif. -- The Rangers have a lot of work to do on cobbling together a coaching staff for rookie manager Chris Woodward but they likely won't have to start from scratch.
It is expected that bench coach Don Wakamatsu and third base coach Tony Beasley will both return, likely in the same roles.
Woodward has a previous relationship with Wakamatsu after playing for him in 2009 in Seattle. Woodward indicated on an appearance with MLB Network's Chris Russo a desire to retain Wakamatsu, who is under contract for 2019. The Rangers would like to keep Wakamatsu as well.
