Rangers keep Eovaldi at 3/$75M

The Texas Rangers and free agent pitcher Nathan Eovaldi have agreed to terms on a three year, $75 million deal, per multiple reports.

Chris Young had said that bringing back Eovaldi was the team’s top priority, but there was some question about whether the team’s budget issues surrounding the television uncertainty would prevent that from happening. Apparently not.

I am at dinner with my wife as I type this. I will type more later this evening.

UPDATE — Okay, I am typing more.

This is significantly more than I was expecting — I figured Eovaldi would come in around $60-65M over three years, or maybe two years and a vesting option — but its all good and I’m not complaining.
