OAKLAND, Calif. - Quite a day Thursday for the Rangers outfield.
On Thursday morning, Joey Gallo went to the doctor with some inconclusive scans in hand. By the afternoon, he was Instagramming photos of his post-op hand, Willie Calhoun was in the Rangers clubhouse and Nomar Mazara's future was that much more in limbo.
A consultation with Dallas hand specialist Dr. Thomas DiLiberti revealed what an X-ray and MRI had not: That Gallo had broken the hook on the hamate bone in his right hand. And, as luck would have it, DiLiberti was able to fit him in for the quick procedure immediately.
