SAN DIEGO - The Rangers began an important series Friday night with something still at stake: Draft position.
With 15 games to go the Rangers are sputtering their way towards a top 10 pick in next year’s draft. A poor three-game series at San Diego, which began the night holding the No. 5 picks, could push the Rangers towards the top five.
All the reason in the world for a two-week “tank,” job, right?
Do yourself a favor: Don’t ask that question to Rangers manager Jeff Banister.
Not unless you want a stone-cold stare and an icier response.
