The Rangers have been here before.
“Here” being in Kansas City with a badly struggling Rougned Odor and nearing the proverbial end of their rope on ways to get him going.
More specifically: A year ago, the Rangers limped into Kansas City with Odor’s batting average flirting with .200 and his OPS hovering right around .600, his defense was shoddy, his effort questionable. Then he went out with some teammates, was part of a ruckus, and it presented the Rangers with a perfect opportunity to send a very clear message. He was benched for a game and told to get his act together or get an apartment in Round Rock.
