The Rangers' pitching staff is down a two-time Cy Young award winner.
The team announced Tuesday that they granted Tim Lincecum his outright release after activating him from the 60-day disabled list, and electing to not add him to the 40-man roster.
Lincecum made his 10th rehab appearance Sunday by pitching a scoreless inning for Triple-A Round Rock against Nashville.
Lincecum had a 5.68 ERA in 12.2 innings of rehab but he's allowed just one hit and no earned runs in his last four outings. The biggest issues he faced had been command of his secondary pitches and keeping his unique delivery in line.
