The Rangers have claimed 24-year-old infielder-outfielder Renato Nunez off waivers from the Oakland A's and moved Tim Lincecum to the 60-day disabled list due to a blister on his finger.
Lincecum, who did not pitch last year and didn't sign with the Rangers until March, won't be eligible to be activated until May 28. He could potentially begin a rehab assignment as early as April 28. The move to the 60-day DL was necessary in order to create a spot on the 40-man roster. The Rangers will have to create a roster spot for Nunez on the 25-man roster when he joins the team in St.
