The Texas Rangers have received outfielder D.J. Peters on a waiver claim from the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team announced today. Peters had been at Oklahoma City, though the Rangers announcement didn’t mention whether Peters would be assigned to Round Rock or if he’d been joining the major league squad. The Rangers had an open 40 man roster spot, so no corresponding move is necessary.
Peters was drafted by the Rangers, interestingly enough, in 2015 s a JuCo freshman in the 36th round out of Western Nevada College. Peters didn’t sign, and ended up being picked in fourth round the following year by the Dodgers.
