The Rangers called up Willie Calhoun, who is the team's No. 2-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline, and right-hander Austin Bibens-Dirkx from Triple-A Round Rock, activated infielder Hanser Alberto from the disabled list and selected the contracts of right-hander Adrian Sampson from Round Rock and left-hander C.D. Pelham from Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.
Alberto, 25, suffered a right hamstring strain when he pinch-hit on August 24 at San Francisco, the same day he had been recalled from Round Rock for his third major league stint of 2018 (also May 15-June 1 and June 10-13).
