The Texas Rangers expect All-Star third baseman Josh Jung to miss eight to 10 weeks following surgery on his fractured right wrist.
The Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday that the repairs were "a little bit more involved than appeared" on the initial X-rays.
Jung, 26, was hit by a pitch in Monday's 9-3 road win against the Tampa Bay Rays. He was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
He was an All-Star and finished fourth in American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2023 despite missing 40 games, most of them because of a fractured thumb.
